The Great Gatsby is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s novel of the same name and follows the doomed love story between Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan). In the book, Gatsby conquers the American dream to try to win Daisy back from her wealthy husband.

The song, “Back to Black”, was written by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson for her second studio album, also titled Back to Black, and deals with her tumultuous relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil. The song specifically references a time that Fielder-Civil left Winehouse for his ex-girlfriend, prompting her to return to depression and drugs.
Sources say that Beyonce and Andre 3000′s version is “a very different take on ‘Back to Black’”.
The Great Gatsby premieres on May 15 at the Cannes Film Festival.
