With Brad Pitt attached and Sony now on board to distribute, the World War II pic “Fury” has slowing begun assembling its ensemble with Shia LaBeouf in talks to co-star.
David Ayers is directing the pic from a script he penned.
The story follows the commander of a Sherman tank and its five-man crew on a mission behind enemy lines. Story is set in April 1945 as Nazi Germany collapses.
LaBeouf would play a member of the crew.
QED Intl. is producing with John Lesher’s Le Grisbi Prods. and Ethan Smith. Alex Ott is co-producing.
Lensing is set to begin in September with a Nov. 14, 2014, release date set.
LaBeouf currently has the Sony Pictures Classic film “The Company You Keep” in theaters and has wrapped production on the Lars von Trier “Nymphomaniac.” He is repped by CAA, John Crosby Management and attorney Matthew Saver.
